Millar Makeover
June 12, 2005
The Millar family is from Spruce Grove. They have been foster parents for over 40 years and have raised over 70 children. The government recently inspected the home they reside in, and it was decided that the home was no longer up to code and would be shut down if not renovated to code.
When Eldon Johnson from the Make A Wish Foundation of Northern Alberta approached John Cameron on this matter, there was no stopping John. He immediately met with the family and from there asked for help from his staff. As usual he was not disappointed with the reaction of the Keller family; everyone was on board.
What happened from there was truly a miracle. The project turned into an Extreme Makeover, from top to bottom in 3 days. Everything was changed inside and outside, from shingles, to siding, flooring, to painting, and even paving a driveway….everything, even the furnishings. And what makes this even more incredible, is that all of the workers volunteered there time, all of the sub-trades volunteered there time, all of the materials were donated and all of the new appliances and furnishings were donated as well.
Not only did the entire house and surrounding yard receive an Extreme Makeover, so did the hearts of all of the hundreds of people that participated in this incredible weekend.
